Village of Rosholt Minutes

Regular Board Meeting

Monday July 09, 2018

7:00 p.m. @ Village Hall (101 S Main St)

Call to order: by President Robert Kurszewski

Pledge of Allegiance:

Roll Call: Robert Kurszewski, Travis Firkus, Richard Mansavage, Craig Anderson, and Mike Garski

Also Present: Arnie & Debbie Kaminski, Norma Anderson, Mike Wanserski, Chris Martin and Rich Kruzicki

Norma Anderson noted there were children playing close to the pond construction site. No Action.

Mike Wanserski requests the board to consider approval of a beer and wine license for the Restaurant they purchased at 167 N. Main Street. The board will complete the application process at the August 13th meeting. He also requested the Village to fix the sink holes in the Village parking lot.

Chris Martin gave an update on projects at the Fair Park as follows:

Electrical service updated, tree removal, LED lighting funded mostly by energy rebate program, replace wash rack, and grass seed by the track installed by the Threshermen.

He would like authorization on what to do with the wood from the tree removal. The board authorized Maintenance Rich to skid and remove the logs.

Chris also filed a verbal public request for the board to consider condemnation of the beer stand at the Fair Park. He mentioned the need to replace the building, but has difficulty obtaining a bank loan for the lack of collateral by the Fair Association. He would like the Village to consider some sort of joint collateral for the purpose of rebuilding the beer stand. Anderson noted that the Village is not responsible for Fair Association debt and the Association should be wise in their borrowing choices.

Museum Curators:

The curators reported that the installation of the model jail house is in progress.

They also expressed their concern regarding the communication between themselves and the Fair Association, especially with regard to the wedding schedule. They would like the board to consider drafting a curator document that outlines the duties of the curators.

This led to a somewhat detailed discussion about the role of the Fair Association as renters and managers of the Village Fair Park.

The clerk went on record to ask the board to consider the over all effects of communications and responsibilities between the association, the curators and the board before they draft a document or amend the lease agreement.
