News Around Town

Caucus: The Caucus is scheduled for Monday, January 14, 2008 at 7:00 p.m. at the Village Hall/Library (137 Main Street). We encourage your participation in this Election process as The Village conducts the Caucus procedure instead of a Primary Election. At the Caucus, Nominations will be accepted for three (3) Trustee positions. If there are more than six (6) nominations, a vote will be made at the Caucus to reduce the number of candidates.

**There will be a U.S. Presidential Preference Primary Election on February 19, 2008**

Public Hearing for Comprehensive Plan

The Village Board, Zoning Plan Commission and a Citizens advisory committee have been meeting with the North Central Wisconsin Regional Plan Commission (NCWRPC) to develop the Comprehensive Plan required by State Law. It is time to adopt the plan, therefore, a Public Hearing is scheduled for February 11, 2008 at the Village Hall/Library (137 Main St)

A common statement heard throughout the village is: “Our Village is dying, what can be done about it?” We encourage you to participate in an informational session being presented by The Portage County Business Council at the January 14, 2008 Board Meeting. This is an opportunity to learn about tools and services that can help restore our community.

Concerns or Complaints: If you have a valid complaint or concerns PLEASE submit a written complaint form obtained at the Village office. Upon submission, the form will be forwarded to a committee chair or the Village Board to be processed.

Opinions Welcome: Opinions and comments are also welcome by submitting them in writing to the Village Office which will also be forwarded to the Board.
