Elected Officials

The Village of Rosholt has an elected President that serves a two-year term.  The President's responsibilities include presiding over the Board meetings and acting as the Chief Elected Official.  The President assists the Village employees in carrying out the policy directives of the Village Board.

The Village of Rosholt also elects a 5 member Board that is headed by the Village President.  Each board member is elected to two-year terms.  The Board is charged with developing local policy through legislative process, and directing the activities in the Village. 

The Village of Rosholt also has a number of Committees that are appointed by the President.  Some of the members of these entities are not Board members.

Regular Village Board meetings are held on the second Monday of every month at 7:00 p.m. at the Village Hall.   Special meetings may be held at other times.

Village of Rosholt Committees

Equipment Planning & Purchase
Chairman: Jessica Moore
Members: Rick Osowski, Arnie Kaminski, Larry Kielblock and Robert Kurszewski
Duties:
  1. Meet quarterly or sooner if necessary.
  2. Review, consider and make determination and requests to the Village Board for purchasing equipment & maintenance items.
  3. Research & make recommendations to plan for future equipment needs.
Finance
The entire Board will serve as members of this committee and will be active in regulating budget issues

Land Acquisitions & Development

Chairman: Joy Garski
Members: Betty Williams, Debbie Kaminski, Bill Skibba and Mike Garski
Duties:
  1. Actively search for availability of land within the Village limits to be used for development.
  2. Review, consider and make determination and requests to the Village Board for Annexations.
  3. Oversee procedures and processes for the Village Comprehensive Plan.
Public Health & Safety
Chairman: Cindy Gemza
Members: Joy Garski, Joann Burk, Stacey Johnson
Duties:
  1. To represent the Village as a Citizens advisory at Portage County Meetings for: Emergency Management, Groundwater and Solid Waste. (Attendance at these meetings will be used as a communication tool between the Village and County boards. You will be responsible for informing the Village Board about any County information or decisions that directly affect the Village.
  2. Complaints received at the Village Office regarding nuisance items such as yard debris, inoperable vehicles, rodents, or tall grass will be given to the Chairperson who will facilitate a committee meeting to determine enforcement action.
  3. Initiate procedures for Property condemnation.
  4. Determine sidewalk snow removal policy with board approval.
Sewer
Chairman: Jessica Moore
Members: Arnie Kaminski, Larry Kielblock and Bob Kurszewski
Duties:
  1. To oversee operations of sewer lift stations and utilities including repairs and modifications to facilities.
  2. As many members as are available should be certified to respond to emergency telephone activated system calls for repairs to the facility.
  3. Conduct an annual review (in September) of the Sewer Budget and User fees and make recommendations to the Village Board (at the October Board Meeting) for consideration.
  4. Be available to meet as necessary determined by events.
Streets/Buildings & Grounds/Parks
Chairman: Betty Williams
Members: Rick Osowski, Arnie Kaminski, Chain Williams, Lee Miller and Debbie Peplinski
Duties:
  1. Meet quarterly to give a report to the board on conditions, progress and maintenance of all Village property.
  2. Perform an annual inspection (in September) of Village property, parks, streets and buildings and make recommendation to the Village Board (at October Board Meeting) for consideration of funds necessary for routine maintenance or repairs.
  3. Meet in the spring to offer ideas and suggestions to the Village Board on ways to improve by setting goals for the upcoming year.
  4. Complaints received at the Village Office regarding streets, buildings, grounds or parks will be given to the Chairperson who will facilitate a committee meeting to determine action.
